Willowbank Raceway Sportsman Drag Racer Update

Willowbank Raceway President Tony Wedlock would like to issue the following statement regarding Sportsman racing at the venue.

“Sportsman competitors have raised concerns over whether they will be catered for at Willowbank Raceway this coming season, and I guarantee those racers that they will – Sportsman racing is very much a part of Willowbank’s DNA.

“We recognise giving everyone the opportunity to race for a championship and we have great plans for the Sportsman categories. But we have delayed any announcements as we are continuing to attempt to have meaningful discussions with ANDRA.

“While those negotiations are predominately Group 1 related, they may influence the final make-up of our racing package – the ball is firmly back in ANDRA’s court.

“Regardless, the Sportsman brackets remain a major part of our track program so dust off your cars, get them ready to race and we’ll see you at Willowbank Raceway.”
